Frequently asked questions

I run a cafe and wish to purchase beans/greens from you, how do I go about that?

  • You can shop for roasted beans in our online shop and make a 50% deposit with our code 'DEPOSIT50' at "My Cart" before checking out your item. Another 50% will be made upfront (delivery option) or you can simply choose to make full payment using paypal (SmartPac/Delivery).

  • Each personal delivery to cafe(s) charge at $30. FREE delivery for any purchase above $200.

  • If you wish to purchase green which are currently unavailable in our online shop or still have any further queries do  talk to us, by leaving your questions and contact details. 

How is the postage calculated?

We have our postage(stamp) purchased base on stated weight and the packaging box as well.

Who do you use for local shipping?

  • We will send by Singapore Post for shipping within Singapore using the SingPost SmartPac service. Depending on the weight, it will be a either be a Envelop Box: S$4.70 for delivery up to 3kg OR Envelope: S$3.80 for delivery up to 1kg. For each additional item, there is an additional charge of $1.00. SingPost SmartPac service assures door-step delivery within 3 working days and allows track and trace online. 

  • If you choose Singpost normal mail: Unregistered Mail. Kindly note that parcel tracking is NOT available for Singpost normal mail (unregistered mails). Dockyardcoffee will not be responsible for any lost of unregistered mails sent via SingPost.

Can you deliver to my doorstep personally or meetup somewhere?

Personal Delivery only applies to cafe(s) purchasing large quantities with at least a 50% deposit at the time of order (with our code 'DEPOSIT50') OR if you are living around the west area, so select bicycle delivery at the checkout/delivery page.

How does your offline payment work?

  • Our offline payments only applicable to Dockyardcoffee regular customers in our contact list. 

  • To our new customers:  the order make will not be recognise if offline payment mode is selected.

When will the coffee be sent?

  • Our beans are roasted to order as we want to produce the best to our coffee drinkers. We currently roast twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays. When orders are received before 5pm on the day prior to the roasting day, we will send out the coffee within 3 working days from the date of roast. We cup the coffees after each roast before we bag them, hence we can only send out the beans earliest on the following day after the roast. You will receive an email/sms notification when the coffee is sent. Do let us know if you did not receive your order. 

  • Note: If you order your coffees by Tuesday 5pm, we will include your order in our Wednesday's roast and will sent out by Thursday. For orders before Sunday 5pm, your orders will be sent out on Monday. No coffees will be sent on weekends since the Post Office will not handle any incoming mails, but all orders will be posted out on Mondays instead

Do you ship internationally?

At the moment, we only ship internally, Singapore. 

Can I have the coffee ground?

We would like to make it more convenient for all our coffee friends but we would prefer to have you getting the best we can possibly offer and so we strongly encourage you to grind your own coffee. You will get MUCH MORE out of the coffees if you DIY than getting us to grind it for you.   

How should I store my coffee? How long can the coffee last?

  • Its advisable to keep the coffee in the bag which it comes in, rolled up tightly and store in an air-tight container and keep in a cool, dry place, out of the sunlight. The better the storage conditions, the better the flavours hold. 

  • Do not keep the coffee in the refrigerator/freezer. Due to the humidity in our local climate, condensation occurs when you take the bag in/out of the refrigerator/freezer. Moisture does no good to the coffees until you start brewing it.

  • We encourage you to use your coffee within a month of the roast date to get the best flavours out from it.

  • We do highly recommend you to buy in small quantities to avoid coffees from going stale.

What are some recommended ways to brew the coffee myself?

Here are numerous ways to make coffee and its really a trial and error process to find the way you like. A couple of general pointers that might get you started:

  • Use filtered water rather than mineral water. Water makes up 95-98% of the cup of coffee, so don’t underestimate the importance of water quality.

  • Try using water that is between 90-95°C. We feel that this temperature range typically helps to extract the flavours from the coffee. For Aeropress, you can try a lower temperature around 85-90°C.

  • Grind coffee right before brewing.

  • Start with a brew ratio of 60 grams of coffee for every 1 litre of water, then adjust the ratio according to your taste and age of beans.

Returns/Cancellation Policy

Coffees sold are not refundable. We check the conditions of all products that are to be shipped out prior to shipping, hence the item(s) delivered are not refundable unless there are serious faults/defects that we are unable to detect by visual inspection. You can contact us and we will try our best to fix the issue. 

Privacy Policy

  • We are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to process orders. When you order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, delivery address and payment information (PayPal or credit card).

  • This allows us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you of the status of your order. 

  • Dockyardcoffee does not and will not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.
